UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN MEN’S BASKETBALL “COMMIT AND WIN” CONTEST
(The "CONTEST")
OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
1. PERIOD: Contest begins at 8 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) on Monday, May 1, 2023 and ends at Eastern Time (ET) at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 (the "Contest Period").
2. ELIGIBILITY: Contest is open to residents of the U.S., at least 18 years old at time of entry. Board members or executive officers of the University of Michigan, employees of the University of Michigan Athletic Department, and any of its subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, advertising and promotional agencies, and the immediate family (spouse, parent, sibling, children, grandparent or grandchildren) and/or household members of any persons referenced in this paragraph are ineligible to participate.
To ensure compliance with NCAA rules, neither contest winner nor their guest may be a "prospective student-athlete" as defined by NCAA rules.
3. TO ENTER: Limit one (1) entry per person
Visit www.mgoblue.com and follow the contest entry instructions. Each person meeting the eligibility requirements (each an “Entrant”, collectively, the “Entrants”) will have the opportunity to enter the University of Michigan Men’s Basketball Commit and Win contest (The “Contest”) in one of two ways:
a) Automatic Entry: Entrants may automatically enter the contest by renewing an existing, or purchasing a new, full season ticket package for the 2023-24 University of Michigan men’s basketball season. Void where prohibited. Residents of New York are not eligible to be entered or win when they are renewed.
b) Any person may mail a three (3) inch by five (5) inch postcard with proper postage with Entrant’s full name, address, city, state, zip code, day and evening phone numbers (including area code), e-mail address, and date of birth to: University of Michigan Athletic Department, Ticket Sales Office, 1000 S. State Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48109.
Limit one (1) entry per person, regardless of method of entry. The University of Michigan is not responsible for lost, late, ineligible, damaged or misdirected entries or any typographical or other errors in the entry, printing of the offer, administration of the Contest or in the announcement of the prize. Incomplete entry forms will be considered void. Void where prohibited. Residents of New York are not eligible to enter or win.
All Entries received prior to each Deadline to Enter (listed below) will be included in the drawing to win the applicable prize and in drawings for all subsequent prizes, provided that such Entrant has not already won a prize in this contest.
4. SELECTION OF WINNER(S): Within twenty-four (24) hours after each Deadline to Enter, the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, will randomly choose, from amongst all Entries, the winning Entry whose Entrant will be awarded the applicable Prize (the “Winner”), subject to verification of eligibility. All prizes will be awarded. Winners will be ineligible to win subsequent Prizes. Entries not selected for a prize will remain eligible for subsequent Prizes. Winners will be notified by phone or e-mail. To be eligible to receive Prize, Winner must comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and award of prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. Prior to receiving Prize, Winners will be required to provide tax identification number and other information reasonably necessary to enable Sponsor to fulfill any tax reporting requirements and confirm in writing in a form reasonably required by Sponsor that Winner and/or Winner’s guest meet the eligibility requirements of section 2, above. If a Winner cannot be contacted, or fails to provide the information referred to above or provide other information that may be required by law within the required time period as stated in section 8, Winner shall be deemed to have forfeited the Prize. In the event that a Winner is disqualified for any reason, the Sponsor will award the Prize to an alternate Winner by random drawing from among all remaining eligible entries received.
5. ODDS OF WINNING: The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Promotional Period.
6. PRIZE(S): The Contest Prizes are as follows:
- 2 complimentary Men’s Basketball Season tickets - Receive a refund on the price of your 2023-24 basketball season tickets. Does not include the PSC. Deadline to Enter - May 3, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. ET // Estimated Retail Value - $680
- Attend a Postgame Press Conference - Attend a postgame press conference for up to 4 people for the game of your choice. The game must be selected one week in advance. Game tickets/parking not included. Deadline to Enter - May 5, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. ET // Estimated Retail Value - $500.00
- Basketball Season Parking Pass - Complimentary parking pass for the 2023-24 basketball season in the blue lot, adjacent to Crisler Center. Deadline to Enter - May 9, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. ET // Estimated Retail Value - $200.00
- Courtside Seats For One Game - Ticket for you and three other individuals (4 total) to sit courtside at a predetermined 2023-24 non-conference game. (parking not included) Deadline to Enter - May 12, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. ET // Estimated Retail Value - $750.00
- Football Pack - You and three others (4 total) tickets to a predetermined non-conference home football game in 2023. Opportunity to hold the M Club Supports You flag pregame at the predetermined game. Deadline to Enter - May 16, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. ET // Estimated Retail Value - $750.00

7. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS: All Prizes subject to availability. No substitution or cash equivalent of prize permitted, except at sole discretion of the Sponsor. The Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. The Sponsor may change the number of prizes awarded in its sole discretion. No prize transfers permitted, except at the Sponsor’s discretion. Official Winner is solely responsible for any expenses and any other costs not described as part of the prize. Federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of Winner(s).
8. WINNER NOTIFICATION/RELEASES: All prizes must be claimed within ten (10) days of notification by signing a Winner affidavit of eligibility, liability/publicity release, and, if applicable, a Waiver and Release of Liability form, or the prize will be forfeited and an alternative Winner selected.
9. PUBLICITY/PRIVACY POLICY: Except where prohibited, participation in the Contest constitutes Winners' consent to the Sponsor to use his/her name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions associated with the event, hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media without further payment or consideration. Such publicity shall be conducted in accordance with all relevant University of Michigan policies.
10. GENERAL CONDITIONS: The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest if fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the integrity of the Contest, as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, the Sponsor reserves the right to award the Prizes at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual they find to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules, or in any manner which violates University of Michigan policy or other applicable laws, rules or regulations. Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the University of Michigan reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
11. RELEASE/LIMITS OF LIABILITY: BY ENTERING THIS CONTEST, EACH ENTRANT AND WINNER AGREES TO RELEASE, DISCHARGE, AND INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS, THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN AND THEIR RESPECTIVE BOARD MEMBERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, AGENTS AND REPRESENTATIVES FROM AND AGAINST ANY CLAIM, CAUSE OF ACTION OF ANY KIND OR OTHER LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES, INJURY OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, TO ANY PERSON RESULTING IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY FROM ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, MISUSE OR USE OF ANY PRIZE OR PARTICIPATION IN ANY CONTEST RELATED ACTIVITY OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, AS WELL AS CLAIMS BASED ON PUBLICITY RIGHTS, DEFAMATION, AND/OR INVASION OF PRIVACY.
12. DISPUTES: Each entrant agrees that: (i) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the courts of appropriate jurisdiction in the state of Michigan; (ii) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Contest but in no event attorneys' fees; and (iii) under no circumstances will entrants be permitted to obtain awards for and entrants hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Michigan, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Michigan or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Michigan.
